Barlaventoexpert's Definitive Guide on getting to/from Castelo Branco to Lisbon Airport and v.v. (Jan 2013)
There are two main ways of getting to and from Castelo Branco,Portugal to Lisbon Airport, Portugal by public transport.
There are no direct buses between Castelo Branco and Lisbon Airport.
1) By train
Depending on the day of the week,(and strikes) there are up to 7 services a day between Castelo Branco and Lisboa Gare Oriente station.
On arrival at Gare Oriente one descends 4 levels into the bowels of the earth and takes the Metro (Linha Vermelha) in the direction of Aeroporto (Lisboa)! Two stops and one has arrived.

2) By Bus
Bus services between Castelo Branco and Lisbon are provided by two main operators:
- Rede-Expressos - http://www.rede-expressos.pt/
These services go direct to the main Lisbon long distance bus station next to the train Station Lisbon Sete-Rios/Metro Jardim Zoologico. (same place - different names)
- Citiexpress - http://www.citiexpress.eu
These services also go direct to the main Lisbon long distance bus station at train Station Lisbon Sete-Rios/Metro Jardim Zoologico. (same place - different names)
The following is an extract from the current timetable:
To travel from Lisbon Sete-Rios/Metro Jardim Zoologico to the Airport take the Aerobus Line 2 Bus from outside the main ticket office at Lisbon Sete Rios Bus Station to the Airport. The service runs every 30 minutes from 07:30 to 22.00. Takes about 25 minutes depending on traffic.
